Image
Hearts with Las Vegas! It's Sweater Season Fall officially begins when the leaves start falling and the air becomes crisp and cool.  The hour has arrived to flaunt a soft and stylish sweater for extra warmth.  Turtlenecks, crew necks, cashmere numbers, ponchos and embellishments of flirty ruffles and big bell sleeves are just a few sweater choices.  Select Fall colors of daring reds, burgundy's, pale pinks and the standard hues of grey, black and winter white.  The end result is a stunning array of classics that can be worn with jeans, black pants, skirts and leggings. Finish with Everlane's The Modern Loafer or Aquatala's Tall Boot and a red lipstick - Dior 999 . Make an entrance this Fall with a gorgeous sweater and enjoy and celebrate every moment of life.  The Everyday Cardigan The Comfortable Cardigan is superb for day and night when cold air sends shivers up and down the spine.  Chose a luxuriant fabric such as ...

Everlane - At Nordstrom September 29th - November 12th

Image
Tell You a Secret... Hottest Company in Retail Everlane! Have you heard of Everlane ?  Everlane designs beautiful and luxury apparel pieces out of the finest quality fabrics and materials. Additionally, all pieces are created in ethical factories around the world while not skimping on craftsmanship.  By the way, the latest trend is to purchase and own well made apparel stressing the art of elegant sewing, construction and design.  The days of buying cheap clothing is on a downswing since the items never seem to last and are a waste of hard earned money.  Everlane's cost to the consumer is significantly lower because the brand is primarily sold only online rather than in brick and motor stores. The concept is similar to Warby Parker who also designs high quality eye wear and sunglasses as noted in my previous WP report .  Nordstrom from September 29th thru November 12th is highlighting Everlane and selling the brand directly to you....

Red Alert - Apparel Fall 2017

Image
Code Red The color red is making a grand entrance in Fall 2017 .  The fiery tone signifies love, passion and sometimes anger while conveying strength and confidence.  Red is the "it" hue that everyone needs to embrace for showstopping moments.  I, for one, love the color red and tend towards a blue red to match skin my tone.  If your skin has a pink undertone choose blue reds and if you have a yellow undertone then select orange reds.  The next step is to own a few pieces in this glorious hue and finish with a swipe of beautiful and bold lipstick.   Yes, fall is here and it is time to put away shorts, bathing suits, tee shirts and replenish the wardrobe with turtlenecks, slacks, boots and anything red.   Fall 2017 is Code Red.  The Red Trench The Trench Coat is an instant classic that is timeless and iconic.  Splurge on an eye catching trench coat in red with minimal details and wear year round.  The...

Pajamas??? Do You Feel Pretty?

Image
First and foremost - prayers for the people and animals suffering in Texas under the torrential rains of Hurricane Harvey.  The outreach of help is astounding and a reminder of how great our fellow countrymen and nation are during a crisis.  Please donate to the American Red Cross .  Bedtime Stories - Fashion for Night Recently, after meeting with several girlfriends, I was reminded of our matching pajama tee shirts in college that we wore every night to bed.   I wore my short red tee-shirt with a blazing yellow owl for years after college until one day I realized that this beloved specimen was a tad worn out and perhaps not that attractive to myself or anyone else. Finally, after many moons of use, the lovely piece was retired. Which brings me to the main topic of the moment:   What is ultimate apparel to be worn in the darkened hours?   Yes, we dress well during the day for ourselves and the world with hair coiffed and a smudge of makeup ...

Jeans & Denim - Sun Valley Style

Image
The Casual Active Life Last week was spent in stunning and breathtaking Sun Valley, Idaho with several girlfriends. Each day was packed with walking, hiking, biking, swimming and exploring the towns of Halley, Ketchum and Sun Valley.  A couple of the friends hiked Mt. Baldy while myself and another took the Gondola. The view was spectacular and lunch at the Roundhouse was the ultimate way to end the excursion.   Sun Valley is a place that is laid back and understated in apparel and actions.   In fact, upon arriving and visiting the local grocery store, a famous celebrity from Freaky Friday (2003)  literally strolled past us sporting dark sunglasses on a mission to abscond with a food item or two. She even dropped some crackers but we all gracefully let her be herself. Ironically, I had just seen this movie two weeks ago for the millionth time and to see her up close and personal in the store and again immediately after in a photograph at the Sun Val...

August - "Dog Days" of Summer

Image
Summertime - Time Out  The Harried Life August is the final gasp of summer fun.  Many run from one activity to another and perhaps never really enjoy the moment or beauty that summer parades upon the land. We live in a time when social media exposes a charmed world of perfection though most likely not the real narrative.  Of course, highlighting places to hike, to swim, showcasing family get together's or presenting the latest and greatest is always appreciated. The idea of just relaxing with a good book for hours is far from people's minds.   Instead "running" from here to there is paramount in a harried fashion which in itself has become a sport to be documented on social media. What has become of "doing nothing" for a spell? The art of less and not documenting is indeed rare.  Are you missing out?  Did you ever think you were missing out on something fabulous before the advent of the "here I am" in public photos? No.  It is...
