Spring is Coming Pixabay Photo - No Attribution Required "Colors are the smiles of nature." Leigh Hunt I think the time has come to sport bright colors and launch ourselves into Spring 2021.  Images of orange, pink, red, yellow and lime greens come to mind.  March is around the corner and soon the flowers will begin to open, blue skies may appear, and a fresh new world is about to burst forth.  I also get the strong sense that people are beginning to feel confident and resuming some of their favorite activities.  For instance, where I play tennis masked, several of my friends have recently come back.  Seeing their twinkling eyes and masked faces brings joy to my heart. Winter Fashion 2021

The Chilly Artic "Good clothing is a passport to happiness." Yves Saint Laurent Yves St. Laurent Fashion Exhibit - Seattle Art Museum (2016) The winter of 2021 has been brutally cold across the country.  One for the ages. With snowstorms, bitter winds and ice, the frigid temperatures have seeped into everyone's bones.  Even places slated to be warm in February tend to be on the cooler side of the temperature gage.  Though, I must note that temps are slowly getting warmer in the sun infused states.  Beyond the weather, nerves remain flared as people struggle to get the vaccine, keep safe and bundled up all in one sweep.  The stress is at an all-time high.  It seems to me; we need to sit back and figure out how to be helpful to one another.  To be positive and appreciative for family and friends during these trying moments. We are closer to having everyone vaccinated and getting back to a semi-normal life.  In the meantime, we must be patient and diligent awhile longer.

Happy Valentines Day 2021

Love is in the Air!!!  Or is it Snow? "Where there is love there is life." Mahatma Gandi What Does Valentine's Day Mean to You?  It is snowing hard here in the Pacific Northwest.  We have eight inches, and it is still swirling down and covering everything.  The beauty of snow changing the landscape is a sight to behold.  Ever since I was a child, I have loved the snow.  We used to play endlessly in the streets building snowmen, having snowball fights, making snow angels, sledding and creating igloos. We did not go inside until we were cold, wet, and hungry.  We were always in the elements playing with friends or family members. The days of being a child without a care in the world are indeed cherished.  Today, I love the sound of kids playing in the snow.  It is wonderous.   Of course, Valentines Day 2021 for me is a winter wonderland.  Hopefully, we will continue to have power.  It remains to be seen.  Mother nature moves at its own pace and can never be accurately pr

Books to Read - February 2021

Read, Read, Read "We read to know we are not alone." C.S. Lewis Do you love to read? I do.  In fact, I always have a book on deck for my pleasure.  I wake up in the morning and carry my favorite novel downstairs.  It is how I start and end my day.  I am always reading.  It is my quintessential past time.  What do I like about the novels I chose?   I enjoy historical fiction with tales about the human condition.  Or I love stories told in a new place that I have never visited. Afterwards, I want to travel there and sink into the surroundings.  If I enjoy an author, I will read ALL  his or her books.  I tend to read books where the woman is the lead character.   I enjoy the strife, angst, and messiness of the characters' lives and how they prevail with strength, wisdom and love.  The struggle reminds me of the complexity of life and the beauty all in one snapshot.   Additionally, authors who share human drama, vivid details of the landscape and scenery plus poured their h
