Lion's, Tiger's and Leopard's - Oh My!

Hear Me Roar!

Red Lips, Black, White, Grey and Silent Secret Weapon - Animal Print!

Your apparel, your appearance and your character does matter.  Your personal style is a powerful tool of communication.  People will make an impression of you within 30 seconds of meeting you.  So why not put your best foot forward and make an effort to appear presentable?  Now more than ever how you dress, what you wear, how you present yourself is so important.  You can think it doesn't but it does.  Duchess Megan of Sussex has transformed herself from being an actress into presenting herself as formidable, regal woman befitting her new role.   Meghan, like Duchess Kate of Cambridge, knows that standing tall, sporting a smile with simple and elegant apparel sends a lasting message of  "I respect myself and I respect the event and the people attending."  You will never find these two women wearing jeans with holes, sloppy coats or no makeup to an event or to a formal soiree.  They have learned the power of apparel and makeup.  Just as men know that a suit is more powerful in the public eye for the correct occasion.  You are what you wear.

This fall animal print is stronger than ever.  Similar to the infamous red lip, black, white and grey clothing choices in your wardrobe the leopard, tiger print and lion hues are a silent secret weapon.  Animal prints never fail and send a strong message plus are roaring fun to adorn all year round.  Tiger prints are making an impact too in 2018.  Even camel hued pieces evoke the lion in all of us.  Which of course, leads me to the essence of being a lion.  Are you a lion? Do you know what a lion represents?

Lions symbolize strength, leadership, pride, nobility, majesty and courage.  Their roar is considered as one of the voices of Goddesses.  The scary and mesmerizing growl is noticed and draws you into something beautiful.  The lion is golden hued and has been symbolized by ancient civilizations and appears as family crests, coats of arms and national flags.  Lion goddesses are warriors. There is so much written about lions.  Thus, why not wear a leopard print, tiger print or the golden hue of a lion?  Step up your personal style with the roar of  leopard or lion and make an impression that will be remembered.  More importantly, you will personally become a Lion Goddess and feel the power of dressing for success.  Yes, your apparel and style does matter.  What are you waiting for?

Books to Read - February 2021

Read, Read, Read "We read to know we are not alone." C.S. Lewis Do you love to read? I do.  In fact, I always have a book on deck for my pleasure.  I wake up in the morning and carry my favorite novel downstairs.  It is how I start and end my day.  I am always reading.  It is my quintessential past time.  What do I like about the novels I chose?   I enjoy historical fiction with tales about the human condition.  Or I love stories told in a new place that I have never visited. Afterwards, I want to travel there and sink into the surroundings.  If I enjoy an author, I will read ALL  his or her books.  I tend to read books where the woman is the lead character.   I enjoy the strife, angst, and messiness of the characters' lives and how they prevail with strength, wisdom and love.  The struggle reminds me of the complexity of life and the beauty all in one snapshot.   Additionally, authors who share human drama, vivid details of the landscape and scenery plus poured their h

Happy Valentines Day 2021

Love is in the Air!!!  Or is it Snow? "Where there is love there is life." Mahatma Gandi What Does Valentine's Day Mean to You?  It is snowing hard here in the Pacific Northwest.  We have eight inches, and it is still swirling down and covering everything.  The beauty of snow changing the landscape is a sight to behold.  Ever since I was a child, I have loved the snow.  We used to play endlessly in the streets building snowmen, having snowball fights, making snow angels, sledding and creating igloos. We did not go inside until we were cold, wet, and hungry.  We were always in the elements playing with friends or family members. The days of being a child without a care in the world are indeed cherished.  Today, I love the sound of kids playing in the snow.  It is wonderous.   Of course, Valentines Day 2021 for me is a winter wonderland.  Hopefully, we will continue to have power.  It remains to be seen.  Mother nature moves at its own pace and can never be accurately pr

Winter Fashion 2021

The Chilly Artic "Good clothing is a passport to happiness." Yves Saint Laurent Yves St. Laurent Fashion Exhibit - Seattle Art Museum (2016) The winter of 2021 has been brutally cold across the country.  One for the ages. With snowstorms, bitter winds and ice, the frigid temperatures have seeped into everyone's bones.  Even places slated to be warm in February tend to be on the cooler side of the temperature gage.  Though, I must note that temps are slowly getting warmer in the sun infused states.  Beyond the weather, nerves remain flared as people struggle to get the vaccine, keep safe and bundled up all in one sweep.  The stress is at an all-time high.  It seems to me; we need to sit back and figure out how to be helpful to one another.  To be positive and appreciative for family and friends during these trying moments. We are closer to having everyone vaccinated and getting back to a semi-normal life.  In the meantime, we must be patient and diligent awhile longer.

Pops of Color

Spring is Coming Pixabay Photo - No Attribution Required "Colors are the smiles of nature." Leigh Hunt I think the time has come to sport bright colors and launch ourselves into Spring 2021.  Images of orange, pink, red, yellow and lime greens come to mind.  March is around the corner and soon the flowers will begin to open, blue skies may appear, and a fresh new world is about to burst forth.  I also get the strong sense that people are beginning to feel confident and resuming some of their favorite activities.  For instance, where I play tennis masked, several of my friends have recently come back.  Seeing their twinkling eyes and masked faces brings joy to my heart.
