The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in process for select card holders.  With the official sale open to the public on Monday, July 17th. 

Lately, many of my friends and I, have been debating on what we really need.  Are we shopping for our "fantasy" life?  Will we wear these pieces or will they sit in our closets?   Many of us love fashion and enjoy buying the newest and greatest item only to never wear it.  I, for one, am thinking about what I wear throughout the year.  It seems so wasteful to purchase when you do not need it. Everyone always says "It isn't about what you need, it is about what you want."  This year I am content with my fashion world.  

I must note that it is important to have classic staples such as a stunning blazer or two, elegant pants, statement blouses, the little black dress and quality pumps.  After all, if you are working, in the public eye or meeting friends for cocktails, the classics are always on point.  Thus, I love to share what will make you elegant, feel wonderful and help exude confidence with your apparel.  

Three Goals of the Nordstrom Sale

1.     Chose Investment Pieces.  For example, a wool coat, leather coat or boot.  Something high end that you will wear often. 
2.     Chose Basics.  Bras, lingerie, underwear and socks.
3.     Chose What You Need.  Do not go crazy at the sale.  If you need mascara, lipstick or something along this vein - check out what is on sale. 

I have received the Nordstrom catalog and viewed items online.  Thus, my selections tend to lean towards classic purchases.  Additionally, the popular items will sell out quickly.  Add to your Wish List and be ready to order on July 17th.  Finally, I do not receive a small affiliate commission for this article.

Veronica Beard Diego Metallic Cotton Blend Tweed Dicky Jacket:  This divine jacket is from one of my favorite designers.  Their jackets are high quality, well-constructed and fit beautifully.  The Veronica Beard Diego Metallic Cotton Blend Tweed Dicky Jacket is in a blue/pinegrove hue with a slight sparkle.   The back is cropped.  This piece reminds me of a houndstooth jacket I owned in the 90's.  You can dress it up with a black pencil skirt or wear with jeans and boots.
