Everlane Combat Boots - Monday Favorite Things

Tis The Season to be Merry

The jolliest time of the year is upon us.  Let the shopping and merriment commence.  Of course, this  HO HO HO holiday will be unlike seasons past and instead will include the necessary precautions.  However, we can still enjoy the festivities with a new spin.  Our plans will be the opposite of last year, yet the joy of giving will remain intact.

In a way, it reminds me of Cindy Lou Who from the story, cartoon, and movie, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (2000).   All the Who's down in Whoville were merrily singing on Christmas Day without ribbons, packages, boxes, and tags.  They were happy without the usual trappings of the holiday.  The Who's knew the importance of the holiday does not come from a store.  It comes from the heart.   The Grinch's heart grew three times this day.  The Grinch came down the mountain top and delivered the stolen gifts with a greater heart and an understanding of the importance of the holiday.  Nothing would stop him from giving.

Thus, gift giving remains paramount in our crazy Alice in Wonderland environment.  Giving does not mean bestowing only presents, rather it is the kindness we share daily.  It is the smile, listening, connecting, and creating a beautiful scene for all to enjoy.  For instance, in my neighborhood, everyone has decorated their houses like the house in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)!  The scene is uplifting and the smiles are huge.   Which brings me to my favorite thing for this Monday - Everlane Combat Boots.

Everlane

Everlane is a terrific company with quality apparel, accessories, boots, and shoes.  You will not be disappointed.  Currently, these numbers are on sale and selling out.  Be sure to follow the sizing guidelines.  I ordered half size up and they fit beautifully.  The brown is a deep chocolate brown, which is always difficult to obtain.  These boots are comfortable right out of the box.  You do not need to break them in.

Everlane Modern Utility Lace-Up:  Water resistant, cushion sole, anti-slip tread

There you have it.  Get ready to spread gaiety this holiday.  Do not wait for better days to come.  Instead embrace the spirit of Christmas and grow your heart three times larger.  We are blessed.  Let us share exuberance to one and to all.

And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store."
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"
And what happened then? Well...in Whoville they say,
That the Grinch's small heart Grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn't feel quite so tight,
He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light,
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he, HE HIMSELF! The Grinch carved the roast beast!

Happy Giving!

Until Next Time,

Kim

Merry Christmas 2020

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas one and all.  May you have a very festive day.   What a crazy year!  At the onset of the year 2020, we all had the best intentions, goals, and anticipation.   Of course, 2020 proved to be the opposite of anything we expected.  Completely 180 degrees of "What Now?"   There is no need to explain because we all have lived it.  What is for certain is that the year is finally ending. Thank goodness.  Some have stated this was the worse year in the history of our country.  Whether it was or is not, the end is in sight and a vaccine is beginning to be administered.  Hopefully, we each can reassess what is important in our lives, anticipate some sort of normalcy swooping back into our lives.  After all, we are social creatures and being isolated is not healthy for the mind or the body.  Spirit of Christmas - The Christmas Star Last Seen 1226 Never stop believing in the future and unknown.  This season we all decorated to the nines, baked cookies, laid ou

Friendship - The Hands That Hold You

The Tenets of Friendship "My joy is non-negotiable" - Kathy Lee Gifford Recently, I spent a week with my Chi Omega sorority friends in Sun Valley, Idaho on a ski vacation.  We have known each other for 40 years which is astounding and warms the heart.  We laughed, chatted, skied, snowshoed for miles, walked, talked, went out for dinners and celebrated a birthday.  My girlfriends home was beautiful and the perfect size for the group.  We enjoyed putting on our makeup together in the kitchen, pouring over the latest clothing item on the Internet, exercising to videos, eating popcorn, candy, cookies, watching Mary Poppins Returns (2018)  and an episode of Marie Kondo (Netflix) - making us think about getting rid of apparel.   Of course, there was a good bit of wine poured too.  The vibe was happy, content and filled with fun.  As always, a  few moments ensued which is quite normal for a group of women sequestered together for six days.  Yet, this trip reminded
