When you hear the phrase "I am woman, hear me roar" one often thinks of a person using their voice or written skills in a loud and obnoxious fashion in today's arena. The actual phrase was from a Helen Reddy song in the 1970's and became the rally mantra for the feminism movement. In our chaotic times, I believe the phrase has gone viral with a twist, "I am woman or man, hear me roar." As we all know we are subjected daily either through social media or the press to bitter exchanges, absent minded comments and self aggrandizing window dressing. Topics such as kindness, respect, grace and dignity have been forgotten and replaced with cruel diatribes. Ironically some might think they appear intelligent with witticisms but in reality viewed as bullies.

What does this have to do with the big cat rage for Spring 2020. Why everything? Perhaps if we all wear a big cat jewel we will remind each other to seek out grace, kindness and other missing sensibilities that are at the cornerstone of exemplary human behavior. Start anew and meow politely. Think before you speak or write. Be a leader of the pride rather than a follower without critical thinking. Correct and apologize when you fail and have a moment. Tigers, lions and panthers have a code to exist in their big cat colonies. We must too.

Feline obsession has been a hallmark of impeccable style. Leopard print coats, pants, jeans, scarves, belts and even winged eyeliner are eternal in fashion. I even have Nike leopard print shoes for tennis. I know - obsessed right! The Egyptians to Tiffany & Co in the '50s and '60s and again in the '80s showcased earrings, necklaces and bracelets stating chic. Therefore it makes wild sense to bring back sparkly fierce jewels into the fashion mix. Those that dare to don big cat jewels are self confident, independent and strong with a stamp of kindness.
