Ankle Pants: Tired of Jeans???

The Professional Touch Wins

YOU DECIDE

Are you going out with friends for a special night?  Or having to present in front of a group or maybe you just want to appear polished?  Jeans are fantastic, versatile and comfortable yet do not always garner instant respect or come off as professional.   A pair of black ankle pants combined with a colorful blouse provides an instant tailored ensemble that is memorable.    I can hear some of you reading this, "It doesn't matter what I wear, it really doesn't. Seriously. I just want to look like everyone else"  However, newsflash, what you wear, how you hold yourself, how you speak conveys who you are.  Are you self confident?  Do you respect others?  Do you respect the event?  Are you a leader?  Or are you a follower?  Do you just conform and copy everyone else?  Or do you follow the road less traveled?  Do you want to stand out or fade into the woodwork?   Do you dress your age?  There does come a time when certain outfits do not look good even if you are stick thin.   Another topic for another piece.

As I am writing this piece, I am listening to a You Tube video by an incredible woman,
Chelsea Smith, Pastor, Churchome, Kirkland, Washington who I met last week.  She is discussing how we often compare ourselves to others especially when perusing social media.  And, this comparison leads to emptiness and unhappiness. As a result, loneliness is on the increase as there is less daily physical community where you actually talk and see people.  Social media gives a sense of failure of not doing enough or being left out or missing out.  Think of your daily activities and ask yourself  the following.  Are you connected to people everyday?  I mean really connected by laughing, talking and sharing yourself?  Well, if not then maybe it is time to start.  Talk to people, smile and show your best self.  Act friendly and be friendly.  Be interested.  Interested in someone else is interesting.  If you just talk about yourself you have missed the point of two way communication.  Now, what does this have to do with owning a fashionable pair of black ankle pants?  Well, if you dress up, add a piece of jewelry, a scarf or a pretty top that you love and own - you will feel self confident and sparkle.  Remember you are unique and special and there is only one you!

Jeans are again marvelous and I love them.  Yet, sometimes I want to step out in high fashion and appear professional and polished.   Don't you?  Don't forget to connect with others and to be present.  And, remember that social media is fake and what you see isn't always truth.  Don't compare ever. Truth is through physical connection.  Now for those black ankle pants, please!!

There you have it.  Trouser ankle pants or faux leather leggings to add to your wardrobe.  And, when you dress up and head on out the door, remember to smile, hold your head up and walk confidently.  Make an effort to connect with others by talking, smiling and laughing with the world around you.  Texting, instant messaging and email doesn't count.  Put the phone down.  Get up from the computer and get outside.  You need to be with people!  You can do it.  Be your best self and sparkle.
