Red - The Hue of Love

All the World Needs is Love -

Lets start with Red Lips and a Smile!

Now more than ever we need love in our world instead of hate.  Hate is prevalent and it seems to be growing creating sorting and isolation.  We need to watch our words, think about what how we communicate verbally and written and always strive to be a figure of  grace, wit and kindness.  Strident words in communication of any sort can only lead to misery to the person creating the dissertation.  Recognize tragedy but lead with a firm hand of resolution and strength.  Which leads me to my favorite color red that signifies - love.   We are lost as people and as a nation without love, kindness, thoughtfulness and understanding .  Thus, my adventure with the color red has always been front and center in my life.

I have worn red lipstick with red nails forever.  It is a signature look for me that I adore even though my mother constantly told me not to wear red lipstick. Of course, I didn't listen.   In 2018, I started to wear more neutral colors or pink rather than my standard red.  Maybe because I am older or just wanted a change.   However, within the last month, I decided to go back to my favorite red lips and nails.  My favorite makeup artist, Julie Clark, did an entire video on Red Lipstick.  After watching, I thought I am going back to my signature lip color - red. When I did, I was stunned with the compliments received from friends or complete strangers.   I think the power of red is powerful.  It is inviting, warm and screams self confidence.  The color red also denotes passion, love, warmth and confidence. Perhaps if we wear red in apparel, makeup etc., perhaps we can create a better world.

As I mentioned, red throughout history is equated to love with symbols of red hearts, Christmas and even with a holiday - Valentines Day.  Red has been the color worn by humanity around the world.  The hue can also trigger anger and passion.  Yet, overall, red is the hue of  love, of family and love of our fellow man.  It is so easy to hate, to point fingers and to blame. It is actually difficult to really think, to understand others, to listen and to absorb new ideas or thoughts. Hate and blame are easy.  To walk tall, stand proud and be a beacon of kindness and happiness is the hardest path.  Yet perhaps if you begin today and wear red lips, add a smile and continue with The Kindness Movement stated in my last review perhaps it is a start to humankind harmony.
