Wedding, Brunch, Events - Cocktail Dresses

Love is in the Air!

This month on May 19, 2018 marks the royal wedding of Prince Harry to American born actress Meghan Markle.  Many across the planet are aware of this wedding extravaganza and ardently await the pomp and circumstance.   They estimate over a billion people around the world will view the wedding via the telly or the internet.   It is indeed a brilliant time to focus on love and the cherished ritual of celebrating two people who vow to commit to one another.  In a world that is subjected to hate, jealousy and envy it is refreshing and posh to come together and enjoy the festivities on May 19th.  With anticipation we eagerly await the dress, the hair, the makeup, the attendees and all the frivolities that come with such a grand occasion on a worldwide scale.  The wedding is guaranteed to be a magical event.

Along with this fairy tale wedding we are reminded of true love and connection by witnessing another American woman marry into the British royal monarchy that originated in 827.   Those that read history or perhaps watch Downtown Abbey, The Crown, Victoria and or the The Vikings understand that power, strength and tradition of a monarchy or excellent leadership can bring stability to the people. The might of a heavy hand combined with love of country and protection of a country is always paramount.  Like all countries their are times of strife, discontent but the backbone of tradition and expectations always brings the focus back to the forefront.  Of course, there are a naysayers who ooze jealousy, envy and self righteousness while cowering behind fraught words meant to destroy and demean.   Yet, deep down they know that a social system binds the people together in good times and in bad.   Without a connection or any type of social structure may it be religion, a political system or a team atmosphere then only chaos, selfishness, eventual failure or downfall and hate exist.   A world about yourself, only yourself, making money for yourself is a folly existence and empty.  In the end, money, your possessions, spouting self serving sermons mean absolutely nothing.  It is your character, integrity and how you treat people that matters.  And, a society with structure, manners and expectations remains supreme.  Connection to others is the gatekeeper to happiness.

Thus, love is in the air this glorious May.  In preparation for upcoming weddings, brunches, outings or just daily activities a cocktail dress is making a strong comeback.   Being feminine is indeed a privilege.

What to Wear?

Finding a cocktail dress for a Spring or Summer wedding can be quite an ordeal.  For 2018, look for frocks slightly above or below the knee that are fitted and in a sheath silhouette.  These numbers can be worn to weddings, brunches or evening events.  Stay away from white if attending a wedding.
