Royal Wedding - Dresses for You!

The Frock of the Moment

Meghan Markle (Navy Roland Mouret - Barwick Dress) & Her Mother, Doria Ragland

May 19th is hours away from the wedding of the year to commence between American born Meghan Markle and across the pond royal, Prince Henry.  It will indeed be quite exciting with 1B people watching with delight and happiness from around the world.   The fashion, the people, the celebrities, the royals, the horses, the carriage, Queen Elizabeth II and so much more.  Yesterday, while shopping with a girlfriend for her wedding dress, we stumbled upon a dress collection by Chiara Boni La Petite Robe that is simply divine.  In fact, I do believe the commentators on The Today Show this a.m. were sporting frocks similar to this brand.  Ms. Markle above in the photograph is wearing a dress by Roland Mouret that sings the same silhouette.   Bottom line, these dresses are elegant, minimal and extremely flattering.  Additionally, for a royal wedding shoulders must always be covered accompanied by a fashionator, gorgeous pumps and a small handbag.  For us American's a hat is not necessary but covering the shoulders is a nice touch. Give these concoctions a royal whirl. You too can be a princess for a day.  A spot of brilliance.

The Today Show - May 18, 2018 - Windsor Castle Location Prior to Wedding - NBC Coverage Begins 1:30 a.m. Eastern Time

  1. I was quite disappointed in the bride's dress -- booorrring! Diana's dress was ridiculously over the top sleeve-wise but Meghan's much too ho-hum. I do love those silly little hats they wear tho wish we had them in U.S. ! I have a dress just like the fuschia asymetrical hem Spanish type dress you show here except it's sleeveless -- been wearing it for 15 years I bet and it's still simply fab! Luv ya Kimmy!

Sisterhood - Belonging

Connection is Everything

"Once women find the sisterhood, there is nothing stronger." Zoe Kravitz
The last few months have been pivotal on proving what is important in life.  At least for me.  While reading numerous books, writing, working in my office, gardening, making dinner, watching Netflix, being with my husband, one powerful thought was apparent, "We need human connection especially, "The Sisterhood."
Having girlfriends is imperative along with your family and loved ones.  The sisterhood is a dynamic elixir that feeds our minds and souls.  And, yes, we can talk for hours, following tangents in conversations and often without garnering or wanting a solution to our angst.  We just want to "be." Men often are the opposite, and not always a fan of our ramblings. We love it that they want to "solve" the issue but we on the other hand just want to vent, analyze, and forget.   After all, we sisters need to state 20,000 words a day versus men …

Fourth Of July 2020

Home for the Holiday

"With freedom comes responsibility." Eleanor Roosevelt
Parades, apple pie, contests, hamburgers, friends, family, and fireworks are the essential ingredients for a celebratory Fourth of July.  This year will be unforgettable as the Covid 19 virus has changed the celebration landscape.  The large gatherings, festivities and essential mix of fun are on the shelf across the country. We ourselves are accustomed to celebrating in the islands viewing a parade, taking walks, wildlife adventures, exquisite dinners and viewing incredible fireworks that fill the sky.  Though this is year is unique, never fret.
We have an opportunity to slip back in time and create an old fashioned Fourth of July at home.  Many of you are wondering what to do.  Well, think back to when you were little.  What did you do then?
Growing up in the Northwest, we had sparklers, black snakes, and fountains to light off in the driveway. We attended barbecues with family or friends and watched…

Butterfly's come in all shapes and sizes painted in dazzling and colorful hues.  The beauty and varied differences of the butterfly are astounding and beloved by the beholder.  There are approximately 20,000 species throughout the world dancing in the sun and air.   Yet, what does a butterfly mean to fashionistas?
