Kendra Scott - Jewels

"A Girls Best Friend"

Jewelry is equated to icing on a cake or a finale to a play or the ending of a scintillating novel. In other words, an outfit is just not complete without a dab of bling.   Whether wearing jeans, sporting work out gear, getting ready for work, an evening out or absolutely anything, a bauble of jewels is a necessity.  Or course, it is a juggling act because too many jewels makes one appear a bit desperate for attention.  You know the person, they walk into a room and everything from head to toe is sparkling and wiggling so that all is seen are the multitudes of  jewels rather than them.  The well dressed are always sporting minimal jewels.  Check out Golden Globes 75th - Fashion Highlights for ideas from the red carpet.   The right amount is essential. Just what is the right amount?  Well, here are a few Forever Chic Style rules at your fingertips:

Basic Rules:

  • Wear either real or faux jewelry.
  • Engagement ring is always real and forefront.
  • Ring on both hands.  It is best to limit two rings per hand.  Maybe engagement ring on one and two on another.
  • Winning Combinations:
    • Long earrings, no necklace, rings on both hands and one wrist with bracelet or bracelets.
    • Stud diamonds or stud earrings, long chunky necklace or several strands and rings on one or both hands.
    • Long earrings, short necklace and ring on both hands or just one.
    • Diamond Studs - Either faux or real.  No one can tell the difference.

Tips:

  • Less is best.
  • Twirl around before leaving the room.  If jewels are swaying and glittering everywhere - you have overdone it.
  • Long earrings and long necklaces make the eyes stray down. You want eyes to remain up and  highlight your face. Stay away from this combination.
  • When traveling abroad - leave engagement ring at home.  In fact, all real jewelry should be left at home.  Why tempt fate with the real deal when faux is exceptional.

Tee-Shirts - Rag & Bone

Ultimate Comfort "The tans will fade but the memories will last forever."  Town & Country Summer is coming.   You can feel it especially now with the sunshine filling the land in the Pacific Northwest.  The mornings are crisp with afternoons that are warm with a slight breeze.  The blue skies combined with the yellow daffodils, pink magnolia blossoms, flowers appearing, green trees, snow covered mountains and endless green growth is magnificent.  The eye is endless entertained, and the balm of the sun soothes the weary after months of rain, sleet, hail, snow and cold.  Soon we will be storing our cashmere sweaters and pulling out simple tee-shirts, shorts, bathing suits, hats and sunscreen. Overall, it is a happy time especially this year now more than ever.  We can finally breathe a sigh of relief.   While we are embracing the long awaited change, I have found the perfect tee-shirt for the Summer months to come. Rag & Bone is the answer once again. The quality of t

Red Bathing Suits

Lady in Red Elizabeth Taylor - Pixabay "When in doubt, wear red." Bill Blass Red is the color of passion, danger, anger and ultimately love.  It is a hue that stands out in a crowd, commands attention, and flatters the owner.  Think of fashionistas sporting a red dress in film or in the real world.  Heads turn, smiles happen, and the world stops for a moment.  Red is the color that truly makes an entrance.  Finding the correct red can be daunting.  If you have light, creamy skin with a pink cast, often a blue red is best.  If your skin is olive shade with a yellow undertone, then an orange red is your choice.  This handy chart by RITO designer knitwear can help identify your personal color of red.  Now the fun begins.  Once you have your color wheel done, you can then choose a delightful red hue from lipsticks, apparel and yes for a bathing suit.  The next mission is finding a red bathing suit, which often is difficult.  One would believe that a red bathing suit would be av

Rag & Bone Sweaters

Winter Sale Pixabay - No Attribution Required We live for sales these days!  Do we not?  Getting a deal on well made, designed clothing with a percent off. What more can we ask for? Currently, there are fantastic price decreases on one of my favorite brands, Rag and Bone.  During the winter months, and even in early Spring and Fall, there is nothing better than a warm cashmere sweater to drape yourself in against the chill.   Of course, I must recommend purchasing a sweater in a classic shape that is timeless rather than on trend.  Classic or Trendy?  Which brings up a good point?  There are always new trends for us to partake each season.  For instance, flared jeans are making a strong comeback.  Whereas skinny jeans remain front and foremost.  A skinny, cigarette or straight leg jean can be worn for years rather than with a flared hem. Another trend hitting the airwaves are loose trouser pants, which in my fashion opinion are reminiscent of pajamas.  If you are going to buy pants,

Jeans for Spring 2021

Vi br ant Hues Pixabay - No Attribution Required The sun is out, birds are singing, and Spring is here.  I spent the day in the yard cutting back plants, grasses, and ferns in preparation for the new, glorious, and riotous growth.   The bounty is always stunning with an array of colors.  Later in the Spring, I will fill my pots with hues that add to the décor of the backyard and deck.  Yes, Jeans Please? What does this have to do with jeans in rainbow tones?  Well, the world is filled with beauty.  You must look for it and when you do sigh with delight.  Recently, my favorite celebrity diva, Suzanne Somers, was wearing and rocking skinny orange jeans with black pumps on one of her weekly Facebook videos.  Which, of course, were stunning on her.  Orange jeans are the perfect signal that springtime has officially arrived.   Of course, she is in desert and it is a bit warmer.  However, our day in the heat, will soon be here in the Pacific Northwest.  Right now, is the moment, to pull o
