V. Fifth Fav - Trainwreck (2015) - Amy Schumer; Bill Hader:  Written by funny gal Amy Schumer and directed by Judd Apatow guarantees a fun time at the theater. The  story is about Amy who was told as a little girl that monogamy isn't probable or possible by her father, Colin Quinn.  Now as an adult, and a magazine writer, she is a trainwreck when it comes to relationships and commitment.  Enters stage left  Bill Hader as Aaron Conners , a charming and successful sports doctor whose best friend is LeBron James.  Can love be in the air? The movie is downright laugh out loud comical, witty, warm and a coming of age film.  Additionally, the cast of characters create a brilliant ensemble.  Worth every theater penny!

IV. Forth Fav - Mad Max: Fury Road - Tom Hader, Charlize Theron:  Fans of Mad Max will be in for a freaky jaw dropping visual ride of a post-apocalyptic action adventure.  The fourth film in the Mad Max series is basically an edge of your seat, heart pounding chase with Tom Hardy, Max and Charlize Theron, Imperator Furiosa stealing all the thunder on screen.  The film is raw, bold and extremely violent with fire and brimstone and not for the faint of heart.  Memorable and a definite must see.

III.  Third Fav - Jurassic World (2015):  Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio:  Fans of the Jurassic Park series best buckle up for an adventure roller coaster with Pratt, as animal trainer Owen Grady and Howard as Claire Dearing as a fussy overseer, D'Onofrio as a control freak mastermind mingled in with of course the Tyrannosaurus rex and other prehistoric larger than life dinosaurs.   The movie fan will be riveted to the screen and entranced from opening scene until the finale.   The familiar theme consists of a fully functioning dinosaur theme park that takes a turn into chaos with a genetically modified creature the Indominus Rex. The film had the highest grossing opening in history of film $200M + and has grossed to date $1.6B worldwide.  Jurassic World is exciting, hair raising and the best to date of the Jurassic series with an exceptional cast, sets and spot on script. Hold onto your hats, watch the water tremble and be entertained.

Best Action Thriller

Who in their right mind would hold onto a door of and airplane and fly into the sky? Cruise did with a few hidden safeguards not seen.  Utterly amazing and terrifying!

II. Second Fav - Mission:  Impossible Rogue Nation - Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson,  Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin:  This flick is the BEST action thriller movie of Summer 2015.   The cinematography and action packed scenes along with Cruise doing his own stunts are downright mindbogglingly combined with the premise of the film.   The IMF is disbanded and Tom Cruise, Ethan is on his own, yet now the network faces evil special operatives from the Syndicate.  The corrupt and diabolical rogue nation agents have terrorist attacks on the mind.   Thus, Cruise recruits a team along with British agent Rebecca Ferguson, Ilsa Faust on a mission to restore good to the land.  The cast is perfect, script clever with a mantra of  hold onto your hats, grab your seat and be riveted to the big screen.  Well played.  Well played indeed.

Favorite Film of Summer 2015

 "The Man from U.N.C.L.E."

I. Favorite Film - The Man from U.N.C.L.E. -  Harvel Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alica Vikander, Jared Harris, Hugh Grant, Elizabeth Debicki:  This 1960's television series lights up the big screen with fresh eyes directed by Guy Ritchie.   The story line flashes back to the Cold War with CIA agent Henry Cavill, Solo and arch enemy KGB agent Armie Hammer, Kuryakin. The cat and mouse game between the two is soon stomped out in order to infiltrate an international criminal group and protect the world from nuclear weapons and technology.  The only lead is a daughter of a German scientist.   The outstanding cast includes Alicia Vikander as  GabyJared Harris as Sanders and Hugh Grant as Waverly.   The movie captivates the audience from start to finish with the beautiful international sets, 60's funky fashion and a clever and brainy script. The repartee between Solo and Kuryakin is brilliant and fun. And, Grant adds a bit of the usual charming self that is ever appealing.  The cast is simply the best ensemble of the summer.  Furthermore, the moviegoer is pleasantly surprised by the yesteryear time frame, manners and elegance of the period.  Of course,  bottom line The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is pure entertainment with refined twist.
