Sumptuous and Colorful Coats - Fall 2013

The luxurious and colorful wool coat is imperative during the cold months of autumn and winter.  Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, adorned in beautiful cloaks in soft fabrics dripping in color makes a royal statement when in the public eye. After all, grey days, rain, wind and snow keeps one wanting something exceptionally elegant and warm against the elements.   These luxurious coats can be worn to the theatre, holiday parties, to work or for daily errands.  Either way, a Forever Chic Style maven will be delightfully vibrant, display upscale respect and will be striking amongst the throngs of humanity.

There are many styles, hues and fabrics used in designing and constructing glamorous coats for the dark months ahead.  All the major department stores have a rich inventory to chose from at a variety of price points. Always choose quality fabrics and stay within budget.  Look for sales.

Now for a Forever Chic Style Reminder:  Fashion and manners of dress have only one goal, which is to make the wearer feel special, feel unique, serve a functional purpose and ultimately to feel beloved by self.  In these times, it is important or rather imperative for women to support one another versus competing with them.  The competition between women is at an all time high ranging from comparisons about children, college, schooling, houses, men, status, work, positions, house keeping, clothes, looks and weight.  Think of the fascination with the reality series - The Housewives of OC, Beverly Hills etc. on Bravo.  Women watch these shows with bated breath as the thin, wealthy and conventionally striking are sent to the gallows and called everything in the book.  We, as women, think how terrible, yet sometimes are in agreement with the ax that befell the woman opponent. Why? Because we have all experienced the unmitigated hate, jealousy and envy spilled between one another which sometimes is deserved yet more often than not is just competition that stems from ones own insecurities and angst about their own life and or situation.  Wouldn't it be grand if instead of tearing another women down or competing with them - we as women begin to embrace them, wish them well, accept their lifestyles, encourage success and bless each other?  After all, we as women are all different, with a variety of life paths and no one - and I repeat - no one has a gold stamp on how to live ones life.  What works for some does not for others.

The beauty of the life is the journey and how everyone approaches the journey.  Let's begin by painting our own world in bright colors and warmth.  Take this glow and spread it to other women so that they too can feel the heat of love, feel accepted and feel understood.  We all have wonderful strengths and wonderful differences. Embrace them.  And, the next time a cheap or mean spirited thought comes to mind about another fellow woman, hold the tongue, think positive and spread the words - love and compassion.   Make amends with the past.  If the road remains blocked or the bridge is broken, bless them and move on.   It is an exquisite world - enjoy - dance and wrap a cloak of color around your self and soul.
