The Call of the Wild - Fall 2013

The roar of the animal kingdom can be seen everywhere in Fall 2013.  Recently, at a local department store, it was interesting to notice all the women wearing a meow motif piece in brown and camel - Cheetah or black and grey - Leopard.  The message was clear, animal prints remain classic, royally regal and in an vast array of apparel and accessory choices. Of course, never wear animal print from head to toe.  The reason why is the pelt will wear you and not the other way around.  For instance, recently several celebrities were wearing tight fitting cheetah print dresses and rather than noticing the person - it is the print that is recognized. Less is always best when it comes to taking on anything from the wild.

Listed are the top five Forever Chic Style  animal categories.  The goal is to help you locate an item or to seek out a similar style at your desired price point.  For me, I generally purchase a more expensive piece that will last over many years.  In today's economy, I highly recommend buying one well made clothing item in a quality fabric rather than several at cheaper costs.  The end result is a long lasting beautiful piece that is cherished and worn often.  A closet of cheap, flimsy and ill fitting apparel is wasteful and not worth the money spent.  So, spend wisely.

I.   Sumptuous and Soft Playful Scarves:  A well made scarf in a animal print adds drama to the face and  provides warmth during the chilly days and nights.  Last year, my stepdaughter gave me a leopard print scarf with orange and it is simply divine!

If I were to buy only one item this season in an animal print  - this is it....a scarf!!  Hear the roar!

II.  Everyday Leopard Apparel:  Purchasing a patterned blouse is a wise choice and will be worn over and over again with black pants, jeans or a skirt.   A colorful sweater in leopard cashmere print makes a stunning statement.   Lastly, the cashmere leopard print cape is a fine way to finish and all black ensemble.  Scoop up all or just one for a purrrrfect fashion moment.

III. Perfect Paw Pumps:  Pointed-toe leopard designed pumps make an entrance when combined with black leggings, pants, dresses and skirts.  Combine with a colorful hue such as the turquoise in the photo and stand out in a crowd.

IV. Sultry Tigress Dress & Skirt:  Every Forever Chic Style fashionista needs an animal print dress only always opt for one in black, grey and white.  This color combination is less overpowering and will show off a person's beauty.  I have had my DVF  for several years and have reached for it on many occasions.   A skirt is also wonderful with a simple back top, jacket and pumps or boots.  Avoid, a cheetah print dress in brown's and camel unless worn with a black jacket or black cape.

This DVF print number is one that I have owned for several years.  Classic and always in style.

V.  Exotic Accessories:  A striking cat presentation is delightful and adds a sparkle to any outfit.  Additionally, did you know that cat eye shaped glasses, which are hot, also make your cheekbones stand out?  Yes, they do!  Better than a cheek filler any day!!

 About Audrey Hepburn

"She always under dressed instead of overdressed.  Nobody in the world looked better in plain white pants and a white blouse.  Whatever she put on became perfectly elegant.  Without a stick of jewelry, she looked like a queen."  Eva Gabor

"Audrey rarely skimped on quality.  If she wore a shirt, it was a good shirt, a first class shirt! Or a first class hat!....But simple - I mean, if she was gardening, or cooking, or something like that." Audrey Wilder a close friend of Audrey Hepburn
