Recap of Fashion - from March 3, 2012 - 84th Oscars 2012, Forever Chic Style Overview

The fashion for the evening was comprised of Old Hollywood glitz with snowy whites and frosty creams, glitter, pops of color, decadent black, vivid reds and embellishments with jewelry showcasing elegant fashion. The red carpet theme was a flashback to yesteryear and those participating relished the occasion and dressed to impress with elegance and grace. Everyone looked smashing brilliant. The film, The Artist, stole the show winning Best Actor, Best Director and Best Movie. Yes, Old Hollywood glamour was on the red carpet in 2012.

Forever Chic Style - The Lady in Waiting

Gwyneth Paltrow “Snow White Perfection” Paltrow was statuesque in a sleek white Tom Ford confection with a draping cape. The hair, makeup and minimal jewelry completed the ensemble. Paltrow owned the night and was nominated “best dressed” by many for the sheer Old Hollywood apparel glamour. The red carpet easily framed this beauty and combined with the winning smile and grace Paltrow was “The Lady in Waiting” for the evening.

Angelina Jolie: "Goddess of Hollywood - Love me, Love me not" Angelina Jolie sashayed down the red carpet in a black velvet Atelier Versace gown with a thigh high slit, long curled hair, red lips and a riveting smile. Reporters, cameras and viewers reacted in a crazed frenzy of excitement. The entrance with Brad Pitt and his parents was indeed a sight to behold. After months of being berated as boringly dressed for award affairs, Jolie glammed it up and posed with a leg strategically placed. And, the smile sent a thousand words that Jolie was dangerously back. Instead of a vile of blood, a leg made the entrance that went viral on the Internet. Of course, Jolie a gorgeous beauty, is too thin. However, the entrance and presenting an award with “the pose” was pure Jolie that will not be forgotten. People with substance and fortitude can evolve, can change, can wipe the slate clean of one’s past. Jolie is indeed making a difference with humanitarian efforts worldwide, raising six children, three of them adopted and in a seven year relationship. On the day after the Oscars when tongues were wagging on Facebook, Internet and television worldwide - Jolie was casually seen shopping with future, mother-in-law, Jane Pitt enjoying life. It was reminiscent of Rhett Butler, saying to Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn”.

Forever Chic Style - The Frumpy Frog Queen

Bernice Bejo: "French-Fashion-less” The minty Elie Saab couture gown was indeed gorgeous. Bejo, the lead in The Artist, as Peppy Miller, sadly was not dressed to the nines like the rising "talkie" movie star portrayed in the film. The braided hair and the mint shade with long sleeves was lacking in drama and glamour for this evening affair.

"Pick the day. Enjoy it- to the hilt.  The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future."

"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." The ShiftIn our current upside-down apple pie world, many are struggling with the overload of information on the virus or election. The airwaves, print, social media, or any form of communication is constantly swirling at a high voltage.  The never-ending fables, unrest, destruction, statistics, changes our way of life and follows the path of what I call - The Shift.  A shift that we have no control over but can deal with as gracefully as possible. The Shift where everything we did for pleasure, work or play is on temporary hold or gone forever.  These shifts have happened throughout history.  Be patient. Be kind. It will pass and resolve. The chaos for some may lead to anger, …

What I Love This Week - Perfume - Scents, seductive, fresh and oh so beautiful

Lancome's Le Vie est Belle Eau De Parfum (Life is Beautiful) is lovely and unforgettable.  Have you ever worn a perfume that receives lots of comments?  I personally love this scent.  And, yes others do comment.
The name of the perfume constantly reminds me that life is indeed beautiful.  Life is a gift.  It is to be cherished and and should be enjoyed.  Don't let Negative Nelly'sAngry Annie's or Righteous Rita's ruin your day. Avoid those that do not lift your spirits or make you smile.  Seek out laughter with others either online or in-person.
Spritz on your favorite perfume.  Put on something pretty and start the day with the knowledge that your life choices and decisions matter.  You are special.
Lancome's Le Vie est Belle Eau De Parfum  has floral notes of sambac, jasmine and Tunisian orange blossom. This perfume is for the woman who lives in the present and loves her life. …
