Silver Linings Playbook (2012): Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Chris Tucker, Jacki Weaver

The Perfect Movie Recipe
Mix an incredible script with the following ingredients:  bipolar disorder, mandatory pills, the perfect ensemble cast, recently released man from a mental institution, dysfunctional intense woman, football, running, obsessive compulsive disorder father, dancing with the stars and love.  Shake it all up and presto - a serious, yet witty, hilarious, laugh out loud and warm hearted film to be seen over and over again.

Bradley Cooper, Pat Solitano, after spending time in a mental institution, returns home to live with his parents,  Robert De Niro, Pat Sr., and Jacki Weaver, Dolores.  The movie opens with Pat leaving the mental institution on a mission to get back together with his estranged ex-wife.   His parents are rather concerned about this dilemma.  Pat Sr., loves football, Pat Jr. loves to run and finds himself purposely jogging into an old friend connected to his estranged wife.  His friends wife, Julia Stiles, Veronica, is an over the top control freak who has a sister played by Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany.  Tiffany is a high strung and intense woman who strikes a bargain with the crazed and obsessed Pat.  Chris Tucker, Danny, a friend from the mental institution, is flat out hysterical.  The combination of the football, running, dancing, and endless drama leaves the audience wondering is everyone a bit loony?  And, isn't this what makes life interesting when mixed with family, friends and love?

The cast is brilliant, script top notch and overall one of the best movies of the year.   The emotional tugs, thought provoking ties and laughter make this the holiday movie to see!

Happy Holidays!
